Naomi & Nige’s wedding was SPECTACULAR!!! (As you can see from the above image!) What a gorgeous and lovely couple they are and what a true pleasure they were to work with When they asked me to take their Great Hall at Mains Wedding Photographs and they told me who else was involved, I was VERY excited! Singing waiters, an Amy Winehouse tribute act, top sound, lighting and pyrotechnics boys, Stardream, the very lovely Margaret Mason Florist and the most stunning Enzoani dress from Dreamcatcher Bridal – it was always going to be an awesome day!
I LOVE winter weddings. I love them even more when they’re around Christmas time – even more magical and atmospheric! Gemma & Matt’s was exactly that. Yes, it was cold. Yes, it rained. But the great thing about getting married in winter is that you have no weather expectations – so it doesn’t matter what it does! As long as the mulled wine is hot and the lights are low, then you’re in for a great day
Bartle Hall is a gorgeous place to photograph weddings. Amazing staff, nothing’s too much trouble and they really care about their brides and grooms. So I was really excited for this one!
I started off meeting Gemma at The Marriott at Preston where she was getting ready…
Gemma’s gorgeous dress was from my great friends, the ridiculously lovely Gill & Georgina at Dreamcatcher Bridal in Kirkham
“What happens if it rains” is a question I get asked quite a lot. Well – if you can’t beat it, join it! We used the rain as a feature of these photos and I LOVE them!
First dance time! Was great to see Robin from Dancefloor Couture in the evening – his dancefloors are awesome!
I spent a great afternoon wandering round Tatton Park with Ruth & Paul for their pre-wedding shoot. It was a beautiful spring afternoon and we rounded it off the way all pre-wedding shoots should be rounded off – with prosecco & beers! Marvellous!
I’d been looking forward to Ruth & Paul’s shoot for ages – I’ve known them (especially Ruth!) for quite a while now. I first met her the first time I met Alexis off of Alexis and Adam as Ruth was helping Alexis with wedding dress shopping and I happened to be at an open evening at Dreamcatcher Bridal in Kirkham – which is quite a while back now! Ruth and Paul were then at Ali & Adam’s wedding, so it was great to see them there as well as when I’d met them when they booked me to shoot their big day. I love it when you get to see brides and grooms a few times before their day!
So…onto the pre-wedding shoot – we had a lot of fun! We took advantage of some local street urchin’s mild vandalism and we shot some gorgeous images along the way! I really can’t wait for Ruth and Paul’s big day in Manchester now – they get married at Manchester Town Hall and then are having an intimate reception at The Restaurant Bar and Grill before a MASSIVE evening bash at The Victoria and Albert Hotel – it’s going to be awesome!
Here’s a few of my faves from their Tatton Park pre-wedding shoot…
We had a PROPER Manchester wedding yesterday! Grey skies, rain, but bags of fun and that typical Mancunian attitude of ‘whatever’! Nothing was going to ruin Nat & Chris’s big day and I have to say – I think the shots of them dashing in and out of the wedding cars are some of the best of the day!
So I started off meeting Nat & the girls in Didsbury and got to see Nat’s stunning gown from Dreamcatcher Bridal in Kirkham…
The ushers and the lads from Horgan’s limousines did a great job looking after Nat as she arrived…
The rain was pretty relentless as we left the church…!!!
But the skies had cleared by the time we arrived at Worsley Park – woo!
Time for a few minutes with Nat, Chris and the bridal party…
Saturday was a wedding packed full of awesomeness! There were loads of my wedding friends involved, including Flower Design, Paul Guard and The Coolers and to top it all off – the weather was amazing!
Here’s a little sneak preview of Sarah & Martin’s gorgeous day starting at St Nicholas’s on Wrea Green…
Horse and carriage for the trip back toRibby Hall…
Flower Design created the most magnificent top table!
A few more shots in the snow for you! (Especially seeing as though it seems it’s hanging around a bit!)
Gibbon Bridgeopened a new part to their stunning venue this summer in the form of a beautifully designed orangery – the purpose, to create an alternative space for winter weddings (when getting married in their bandstand might be a bit chilly!) to offer an amazing private dining experience or to host afternoon teas looking out onto their award winning gardens.
My great friends at Flower Design, Dreamcatcher Bridal and I were commissioned to shoot a series of images of Gibbon Bridge and The Orangery to use in brochures, web and other promo material – here’s some of my favourites from the shoot…
First up, Olivia braves the cold…!!!
Gill from Dreamcatcher make sure the beautiful gown looks perfect…
Emily rocking the Ugg boot/wedding gown combo! It’s gonna be big this winter!
How amazing is this Flower Design bouquet? It just fits in perfectly with the countryside surroundings and has a really beautiful wintery feel to it…
The Orangery complete with the funkiest Christmas tree ever!
The Orangery looks amazing set up for a civil ceremony – loving that mood lighting!
Some more amazing Flower Design creations set out for a private dining occasion…
What a great shoot working with some of the very best in the business – can’t wait to get back up to Gibbon Bridge next year to shoot some weddings!
Wow! You couldn’t order better weather than we had yesterday! More coming soon from this awesome shoot, but for now, a little sneaky peek at yesterday’s new brochure shoot for the guys up at Gibbon Bridge (TOP Lancashire venue, hotel and restaurant! The food is amazing by the way!)
Love this shot of Emily with the short dress/Ugg boot combo! It’s going to be a big hit this winter!
Could it have been anymore winter wonderland?!?!
The main purpose behind yesterday’s shoot was to get some great images of Gibbon Bridge’s new Orangery which is an amazing new part to the venue…
More coming very soon, but for now, huge thanks to Edward from Gibbon Bridge for looking after us so magnificently, to Flower Design for the amazing arrangements and bouquets (and their tireless shifting of tables and pedestals!) to Dreamcatcher Bridal for supplying such beautiful gowns AND letting us take them outside and finally to Olivia and Emily for being happy to go outside in -5 degrees!!! Great job girls!
My lovely friends at Flower Design, Dreamcatcher Bridal and I were commissioned by Rebecca Clarke from Browsholme Hall to shoot some images to be used on their new website (coming soon!) in advance of the barn conversions opening in September. Let me tell you, this is going to be THE place to get married in 2011!!! The barn conversions are still being finished, but the first one was ready to be dressed so that we could get some great images that help to give people an idea of just how amazing Browsholme Hall and the Tithe Barn are going to be.
Rebecca was in charge of all things wedding and events over at The Inn at Whitewell before coming to be involved in Browsholme Hall and with her she brings a wealth of experience and ideas. The barn conversion is being personally supervised by Rebecca and she has had a hand in every little detail along the way. It’s going to be a fabulous venue.
Which brings us to the images….
We started off in Browsholme Hall itself, as you’re actually able to hold small civil ceremonies in the hall before moving to the barn for the reception.
The spectacular entrance hall….(you may recognise my favourite model, who’s not a model – the very lovely & gorgeous Ella)
Jane from Flower Design had created some stunning bouquets to use on the day…
This is the room you can actually get married in – how amazing is it?!?!
Jane made this ‘wild’ door wreath on the day! She wandered the grounds, foraging and then just seemingly knocked the wreath together – the girl’s a genius!!!
After a change of dress for Ella, we went for little walk & shot some great images around the grounds of Browsholme Hall…
I love these – proof that you don’t need the sun out and clear blue skies to produce stunning imagery – in fact, the exact opposite works wonders! There’s nothing better than a moody sky…
Then we headed into the Tithe Barn. This room would be set as you see it. Tables dressed for the wedding reception. The other side of the barn conversion which isn’t yet complete, is where civil ceremonies will be held and it’s a stunning space. The ceiling is unbelievably high and it’s already got an amazing atmosphere. You can really see already how the venue will work.
Our friends at Creative Cover hire looked after the chairs – immaculate as always…
Flower Design’s table creations are just magnificent…
I really can’t get over what an amazing venue Browsholme Hall is and how fantastic the Tithe Barn conversion is going to be – can’t wait for the grand opening in September!!!
I seem to be doing a lot of ‘sneak preview’s at the moment! But I had to share this image from the shoot I did yesterday at fab new wedding venue, Browsholme Hall. I was working alongside my best wedding friends, Flower Design and Dreamcatcher Bridal, so we had a lot of fun as well! More will be coming soon, but for now, here’s Ella (my favourite model who’s not a model!) back in a wedding dress!
Greetings from sunny(ish!) Cornwall! I’m writing this blog sat in‘Island House’ in the beautiful fishing village of Polperro, looking over the harbour whilst Emma builds a fire in the log burner! (she’s a very practical Studio Director!)
There’s been some fabulous photography opportunities with more to come, so there’ll definitely be a post about this trip coming soon.
But today’s post is all about the fantastic wedding fayre that I was involved in at Lytham Hall last sunday. Some of the UK’s best wedding experts were there including my great friends,
It was great to meet so many lovely brides and grooms – although I have to admit, Emma did most of the meeting and greeting on the Jonny Draper Photography stand as I was involved with other things on the day, including covering the spectacular Dreamcatcher Bridal fashion show.
Here’s some of my favourites from the day starting with a couple of shots of Flower Design and Rowley’s beautiful tables….
The fashion show really was amazing – I had the opportunity to shoot it from a slightly more ‘behind the scenes’ view as the girls were coming down the stairs before all the guests saw them. I love the staircase at Lytham Hall, it’s spectacular, dramatic, beautiful – just a fabulous part of the venue that really looks so incredible on a wedding day. It was great to be able to shoot some images that will hopefully excite and inspire anybody who is getting married at Lytham Hall…
You don’t often get 6 brides all at the same time on the staircase at Lytham Hall!!!
How beautiful are Flower Design’s bouquets?!
A fantastic wedding event, brilliantly organised – top work from everybody involved!
