Another gorgeous wedding that I’ve actually saved for a few months as Kirsty & Dean’s wedding was actually featured over on Brides Up North blog not long after their day – winner!
Another wedding where I was lucky enough to be working with some of my very bestest wedding friends too I LOVE working with great wedding suppliers – you really know what you’re going to get from them, you know how they work and you’re happy that they know how you work and it’s always great fun too! So thank you as always to Tom and Tom from Silk Wedding Videos, Phoebe & Amy from Flossy & Leigh, Jennie Sawdon – vocalist extraordinaire and the best wedding and party band in the land – The Coolers! A pleasure to work with you all as always
…Jonny Draper Photography!!! How awesome is that?!?!
A massive thank you to all my amazing brides and grooms who voted for me to be shortlisted initially and a huge thank you to the judges at The Wedding Industry Awards for recognising what I do
It is a huge honour to have won – I was standing shoulder to shoulder with some of the best wedding photographers not only in the North West, but in my opinion, the UK, and to be judged as being the best is something that I can’t quite get my head around…
This blog post contains a single image from each wedding that I shot within the voting period (which was REALLY hard to choose!) as an extra thank you to my amazing brides and grooms for trusting me, for pushing me to raise the bar at every wedding, for not thinking I’m a little bit mental with some of the suggestions I sometimes make and for voting for me in these awards. Thank you so much to each and every one of you
These images are in no particular order – I love them all equally
So here we go:
A big thank you once again to all of my amazing brides and grooms and a special thank you to the following people for all of their help, love, advice, support, constructive criticism, recommendations and mickey taking (not necessarily in that order and all of those things don’t necessarily apply to everyone in the list below

So now on to the national finals in January in London! I’m excited to be heading there with some of my great wedding industry friends who won their own respective categories, most notably my great friend and TOP entertainer, Howard Wing, to see how we get on against the best in the country…we can dream can’t we…???
What a wedding! One of my absolute favourite Manchester wedding venues, Great John Street Hotel (so much so, that I often meet brides and grooms there for a drink and a chat about their wedding as well as actually shooting there) and the loveliest couple you could wish to meet
Katie & Andrew’s day was packed full of love, laughter and wonderful personal touches, including the priest who married them, Father Paul, actually being an old school friend of Katie’s! And even more special was the fact that Katie & Andrew’s wedding was actually Father Paul’s very first wedding since becoming a priest – how amazing is that!?!?
So on with the show…I arrived at Katie’s Mum and Dad’s house in Wigan (along with my great friend and ridiculously amazing videographer, Tom Harrington from Silk Wedding Videos) to begin capturing the day…
What a truly amazing day – congratulations again Katie & Andrew!
Here’s an AWESOME wedding I’ve saved for a few months, simply because it got featured on one of the biggest wedding blogs in the world, Rock n Roll Bride, so I wanted the excitement around that to die down before I posted my version of events!
It was my first time photographing a wedding at The Midland in Morecambe. What a venue. Bearing in mind this wedding was in March too, we got VERY lucky with the weather!
I absolutely love photographing weddings at Sandhole Oak Barn and Ally & Matt’s big day was one of those that I REALLY loved! Gorgeous couple, amazing weather and I got to work with my great friends from Silk Wedding Videos too! Amazing day! Here’s a few of my faves…
What a day! Lucie & Quinn got our typical ‘British summer’ wedding! It hammered it down in parts, the sun sneaked out, it rained again, but the weather didn’t matter – Lucie, Quinn and all their guests had an amazing time at Meols Hall (my first time shooting there – what a great venue!) and I had an amazing time photographing it! It was also great to work with the number one wedding videographer in the land, Tom Harrington of Silk Wedding Videos – can’t wait to see his film of the big day!
Where do I start with this wedding?! It was AMAZING! Amazing bride and groom, amazing venue, amazing videographer, amazing vodka drinking skills from the guests (!) it had everything! Suzie & Mark were married at the stunning Styal Lodge in Cheshire on Saturday and I think a lot of their guests are still recovering now! The weather turned out perfect. After weeks of rubbish, typical ‘british summer’ weather, Suzie & Mark got the lone day of sunshine (and warm sunshine too!) this month looks like offering!
So I met Suzie and the girls at one of the most stunning Manchester venues, Great John Street Hotel, where they were getting ready for the big day…
A quick jaunt out of the city and into the beautiful Cheshire countryside and into the grounds of Styal Lodge to catch up with Mark and the guests ahead of the ceremony…
The grand arrival…
In the weeks leading up to Suzie and Mark’s big day, I don’t think even the most optimistic amongst us would have dared hope we might get to spend all afternoon outside….
Lily Rose Events did a beautiful job setting up Styal Lodge for the wedding breakfast…
I snuck off with Suzie and Mark (and Tom from Silk Wedding Videos – the BEST wedding videographer in the land!) for 5 minutes to get a couple of gorgeous images of them by the lake at Styal Lodge…
After the speeches, there was some time for a couple more evening photographs with Suzie and Mark and their gorgeous little boy, Max…
The Vodka Luge. Where the party really got started….!!!
Time for a dance!
Congratulations once again Suzie and Mark – it was an absolute pleasure to be involved in your big day – thanks for having me along for the ride!
This wedding was a LOT of fun! A really great mix of people who were all there for one very simple reason – to celebrate Katie & Nick’s wedding and have a great time doing it! I spent a lovely morning wandering between Nick & the boys, Katie’s Mum & Dad’s house, the pub (yey!) back to Katie’s Mum & Dad’s house – it was all very relaxed & we shot some great stuff right through the day. It was also great fun working with my great friends and TOP wedding film makers, Silk Wedding Videos and lovely to meet a new wedding friend (although it turns out we practically know each other because of all the other people we mutually know!) Claire Louise Mobile Beauty.
Here’s a little preview of Katie & Nick’s amazing day…
A quick swing by the pub to check on Nick & the boys…!!!
Perfect venue, glorious weather – what more could you want?!
Here’s a little sneak preview at all the awesomeness, starting at Louise’s Mum & Dad’s house in Preston…
On to the church and after a little encouragement, Louise & Andy’s little one came charging down the aisle…!!!
On arrival at Mitton Hall…
Stealing the show! Soprano Bella came in to ‘arrest’ the best man and burst into song (they were seriously amazing – they finished with the most incredible performance of ‘Nessun Dorma’ and sent shivers down my spine…) And this was all before the speeches!
After the speeches (and before Louise went to slip into wedding dress no2! A beautiful Jenny Packham gown!)
All change! (How amazing does Louise look!?!?)
The night do got under way with the incredible Stephen Bayliss opening his set with the first dance…
What a day! Congratulations once again Louise & Andy!
