Well, this wedding reads like a “Who’s who” of the North West wedding industry! And what a bloody pleasure it was to be involved in from start to finish! I LOVED shooting Donna and Wayne’s West Tower Wedding Photographs – the day was literally amazing
Clare & Ian are this year’s weather lucky charms! Theirs was the first wedding this year that was truly beautiful weather and I like to think that a bit of that rubbed off and I was able to pass it onto so many other brides and grooms! It really was a stunning day, filled with a lot of laughter, a lot of drinking (standard!) and a lot of soaking up the glorious sunshine! Clare & Ian were married at the amazing Meols Hall in Southport and it was great to work with one of the best bands in the business, The Coolers, too
Sarah & Andrew’s wedding feels like a LONG time ago now and the main reason I haven’t blogged it on here yet is that we were lucky enough to have it featured on Brides Up North wedding blog – but it still needed a place on my blog too!
Another gorgeous wedding that I’ve actually saved for a few months as Kirsty & Dean’s wedding was actually featured over on Brides Up North blog not long after their day – winner!
Another wedding where I was lucky enough to be working with some of my very bestest wedding friends too I LOVE working with great wedding suppliers – you really know what you’re going to get from them, you know how they work and you’re happy that they know how you work and it’s always great fun too! So thank you as always to Tom and Tom from Silk Wedding Videos, Phoebe & Amy from Flossy & Leigh, Jennie Sawdon – vocalist extraordinaire and the best wedding and party band in the land – The Coolers! A pleasure to work with you all as always
I LOVE winter weddings I REALLY love winter weddings at amazing venues with amazing brides and grooms – and I got pretty lucky with these two as their venue falls into the ‘amazing’ category as do they!!!
I love photographing weddings at Sandhole Oak Barn – it’s such a stunning venue. I was particularly looking forward to Katie & Paul’s wedding there as I was getting to work with my lovely friends at Top Table Caterers (who always do an amazing job and their food is gorgeous!) as well as The Coolers (one of my favourite bands) and top wedding DJ, Gary Mills and I got to work with the awesome guys from Reel Vision for the very first time – what lovely chaps too!
A great day and night was in store for us all!
So I started off in the morning at Katie’s Mum and Dad’s house in Disley to shoot some gorgeous bridal prep photos…
Congratulations again Katie & Paul – and THANK YOU so much for the Tequila!!! (Katie & Paul honeymooned in Mexico and brought me the most amazing bottle of Tequila back!)
Well, it’s been an amazing Christmas, with some beautiful weddings and I wanted to squeeze one more in on the blog before New Year…
And it’s this very special wedding at one of my favourite places to photograph weddings – The Belle Epoque in Knutsford. A stunning venue, which suits winter weddings perfectly. Roaring log fire, intimate, atmospheric, what more could you need from a venue for a Christmas wedding?!!?
Sarah & Tom’s wedding started off with me meeting up with Sarah and the girls while they were getting ready…
I really miss Pam & Ged They were great fun to be around, they were so passionate and excited about every aspect of their big day and they were just so easy to get on with – I want to be their bestest mate forever!
From the minute I met up with them at The Restaurant Bar and Grill in Manchester I knew it was going to be a special day. Getting married at Manchester Cathedral, a short walk through town to The Restaurant Bar and Grill for drinks on The Terrace and then the most wonderfully intimate wedding breakfast celebration in RBG’s Private Room – what’s not to like?!!?
So let’s get started, with me meeting up with Pam & the girls at Pam & Ged’s awesome city centre apartment…
On to meet the boys at The Living Room on Deansgate…
I LOVE this. Ged had written the most beautiful poem that their friend read out during the service. Not a dry eye in the house!
Then the short walk through town to John Dalton Street, with a few very brief stop offs on the way…
This was a very cool moment. Ged had tracked down ‘Franco & The Dreadnought’ – a musician who used to be in a band called International One – who had written and recorded one of Pam & Ged’s most favourite songs. Ged got in touch with Franco through Twitter and got him to play ‘Moonshine & Roses’ (amazing track!) for their first dance – how awesome is that?!?!
This was a gorgeous wedding at one of my absolute favourite Cheshire venues! I love photographing weddings at Styal Lodge – the venue itself, the team that work the weddings, the relaxed feel that you get as soon as you walk through the door – it’s an amazing place to get married! I was also very excited about working with some of my great wedding friends including the BEST wedding band out there, The Coolers, top wedding DJ, Andy Murphy and the amazing caterers, Barretts. I also had a soft spot for Jess’s gorgeous Amanda Wyatt dress too…!!!
Jess and Matt were having their full day at Styal Lodge, including Jess using the lodge’s stunning bridal sitting room to get ready in, so I arrived in the morning to see what was going on…
Another glorious winter wedding! OK, so it was a bit chilly, but the sun was out, the sky was blue – it was a stunning day! And talking of stunning – how depressingly gorgeous are Chrissie & Louis? And bloody lovely with it too! And two gorgeous daughters! And gorgeous families and friends – it was a beauty of a wedding!
I’d been looking forward to this wedding for a long time. I’m really lucky in that I get to work with clients who really value everything about their wedding day – their friends and family all being together in a great venue, great atmosphere, great entertainment, great photography. I got on with Chrissie & Louis from the first minute I met them and with some couples you really do get a sense of how much fun their big day is going to be straight away. I was also getting to work with some of my lovely wedding friends which is always a bonus too!
So…on with the preview – I met Chrissie in the morning at her house in West Didsbury just round the corner from ours – I could have walked it if I wasn’t so lazy
Check out that gorgeous Jenny Packham gown from Aphrodite in Knutsford…
A first for me! Chrissie decided, as she was ready in plenty of time, that she would just finish the washing up…!!!
Although Chrissie was ready in plenty of time, she still managed to be fashionably late to church…!!!
Plenty of room for a bride and groom in the back of a mini cooper…!!!
GREAT afternoon yesterday with Carly & Ian in Manchester! Gorgeous weather, gorgeous couple – I didn’t need anything else! We started and finished in The Northern Quarter and also used a few other nooks and crannies in the city centre.
What started as a pre-wedding shoot quickly turned into a fashion shoot! Carly & Ian know how to throw some serious shapes! Check out the little sneak preview below…
***Disclaimer*** I didn’t make Carly & Ian do this! They just took their shoes off and jumped in! ***End disclaimer***
I’m thinking of introducing this into all of my pre-wedding shoots…we must finish with a cocktail that’s on fire…!!!
