Browsholme Hall

Weddings | 03.03.2010

I spent a really interesting day up at Browsholme Hall in The Forest of Bowland in Lancashire on monday. (Browsholme is pronounced ‘Brewsum’ by the way)

Rebecca Clarke (formerly of The Inn at Whitewell) has been brought in by the venue’s owners to set up their bespoke wedding venue, The Tithe Barn which opens in September.

I was lucky enough to be invited to check out where the conversions are up to along with my very good friends, Jane Thompson of Flower Design and Howard Wing (swing singer extraordinaire)

We got a full tour of the barns and were also shown around the beautiful grounds and inside the hall itself which also has a license for weddings.

This is going to be Lancashire’s hottest venue going into 2011. Bookings are already being taken for the end of this year and next year and I’m not at all surprised by this.

In Rebecca, Browsholme Hall have got a true wedding expert bringing the project together. Rebecca is overseeing every detail of the build, from where the beer for the bar will be kept (that sounds like a daft detail, but is genuinely a very important logistical issue that affects the way any event held there will run) through to the state of the art sound and lighting system that will be fitted in the barns to the style and material of the skirting boards.

That of course is only the beginning. Rebecca will bring her expertise to all the weddings held at Browsholme Hall from the minute an enquiry is made, right through to coordinating everything on a wedding day itself.

I can speak from direct experience of working with Rebecca not only as a photographer, but she was actually at The Inn at Whitewell when Emma and I got married and we were never anything but hugely impressed with how she helped us through our planning process and on the day itself.

I can’t wait to see Browsholme Hall’s Tithe Barns open – they’re going to be a hugely sought after venue, in a spectacular part of the country run by some great people. Roll on September.
